Job Purpose:

Independent contractor 20 hours a week for 16 weeks. Provide strategic product direction and engineering development support for outdoor shade and structure products. As a CAD Designer, you will play a crucial role in creating detailed technical drawings and plans using computer-aided design (CAD) software. You will collaborate with engineers to bring concepts to life through precise and accurate designs.

Duties:

  1. Utilize Inventor 2020 create 2D and 3D models
  2. Draft detailed drawings for system design, assembly, and construction projects
  3. Ensure designs comply with industry codes and standards

Technical Requirements:

  1. Proficient in designing and developing shade product structures (i.e. 2 posts, 4 posts, cantilever, arch, slanted, sails, shared post
  2. Fluent in steel structure design Rectangular, square and profile steel tubing structures, Large – architectural steel structures (spanning 14 feet high, 20 feet wide and 80 feet long)
  3. Skilled in 3D Cad Modeling using Inventor 2020 (required)
  4. Skilled in creating assembly and component drawings using Dimensioning and Tolerancing per ASME Y14.1 GD&T and AWS weld call outs
  5. Strong understanding of technical drawing principles
  6. Excellent communication skills for collaboration with engineering teams
