Job Purpose:
Develops drawings to aid in the manufacturing of Anchor Products in accordance with product specifications and quality standards. Role has the responsibility to recommend and implement improvements to product designs and methods to improve overall efficiency. Position is to assist product development by defining products clearly using GD&T, drawings, section views, assembly stack up drawings, engineering notes, specifications and VOC (Voice of the Customer) information.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed drawings of patterns for existing and new products with Autodesk AutoCAD and other software tools.
- Prepare pattern files for CNC Cutting using Nesting software.
- Complete the design of Anchor Pool Cover products to produce complete manufacturing data in accordance with Anchor standards & ASTM Standards for Safety Pool Covers.
- Accurately maintain the Pattern Number Log to track the status of patterns for all Anchor products.
- Organize and coordinate pattern files for Anchor products, parts, and assemblies.
- Coordinate with Sales, Production, Manufacturing Engineering and Purchasing on the manufacturing of products to ensure proper design.
- Evaluate and make changes on product specifications to minimize cost of labor and materials.
- Revise and make specification changes as approved and directed.
- Assist Sales, Production and Manufacturing Engineering in interpretation of product design and problem solving.
- Coordinate with product design to assist Production Cutting operations.
- Coordinate/manage changes to the pool cover program and interpret those changes.
- Manage job task(s) for maximum Company and departmental goal achievement.
- Ability to work outside of and in addition to normally scheduled hours as required.
- Other duties as assigned by Management and Supervision.

Education/Experience:
Must be fluent in AutoCAD (2D drawing and editing). 2-year degree in Drafting / Engineering / Technology is preferred.

Ability to effectively establish rapport, present information and respond to questions from managers, customers and co-workers. Skill and ability to meet people and listen. Good communication skills are mandatory

- This position requires sitting for a large portion of the workday, however, will work closely at times with production on the production floor or in the field.

- Occasional standing, lifting up to 20 lbs., bending, stooping, squatting, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crouching, cervical twisting, torso twisting, climbing, crawling and driving.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and ability to adjust/focus.
- Ability to work in production environment with production employees as needed. This portion of the job is much more physical than in the office. This portion could include heavier lifting, frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crouching, twisting and crawling. Ability to work in the field assisting with or physically setting up Anchor products. This portion of the job could be extremely physical, with even heavier lifting involved. Working in the field would also create exposure to the weather.

Relationship and Roles:
- This position will report directly to the Engineering Support Manager.
- Interacts with all levels of Anchor employees.
Work Environment/Safety:
Climate controlled environment. Machines exposed to would be typical of any office environment. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Overall, no Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, however on some instances, this job may require the wearing of a variety of PPE that will be provided to the employee. If PPE is necessary, the employee will be mandated to wear it.
