Job Purpose:
To build pieces of the frame by wire-feed welding, performing both MIG and TIG welding. Will be required to meet productivity goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
This Class has more overall welding experience/skill and more product knowledge than the Welder I Class 6B. This position will work with limited direction from leadership.
- Read specifications, and collect supplies needed to operate wire-feed welder.
- Ensure proper machine setting.
- Position the section of tubing (members) to begin assembly of the product.
- Engage welder to join sections creating desired design per specification.
- Grind or buff welded areas to create a smooth surface.
- Inspect the frame for proper design and dimensions.
- Move complete work to designated areas.
- Works cooperatively with all team members to achieve common goals; communicating effectively and sharing information and resources appropriately.
- Keep the work area neat, clean, and organized.

- Disassemble the welder to clean using an air hose to rid the machine of dirt and debris.
Occasionally or as Needed
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Other duties assigned by the Value Stream Leader and Team Leader.

Education/Experience:
Prefer high school graduate or GED. Prefer vocational training in welding. Minimum of one (1) year of wire-feed welding (MIG &TIG) required or proven ability.

- Frequent standing, sitting, reaching, lifting up to 50 lbs., bending, cervical and torso twisting, handling/grasping.

- This position requires the team member to wear a welding hood.
- Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust/focus.

This position interacts with team members within the department.
Work Environment/Safety:
Climate-controlled environment. Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Overall, no Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required, however, on some instances, this job may require the wearing of a variety of PPE that will be provided to the team member. If PPE is necessary, the team member will be mandated to wear it.
