The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Strategic Procurement Specialist to lead domestic and global sourcing efforts that reduce costs, improve supplier quality, and strengthen our supply chain. This role works closely with Engineering, Quality, Purchasing and Operations to find and qualify suppliers worldwide, including low-cost global suppliers and make smart, data-driven decisions that account for tariffs and total landed costs.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute global sourcing strategies to drive cost reduction.
  • Identify, qualify, and onboard global and low-cost suppliers.
  • Negotiate pricing, lead times, and supply agreements.
  • Analyze tariffs, freight, and global trade factors to guide sourcing decisions.
  • Review engineering drawings and material specs (aluminum, steel, textiles, etc.) to match components with the right suppliers.
  • Use knowledge of manufacturing methods (aluminum extrusion, steel weldments, machining, etc.) to group similar parts for volume leverage and better pricing.
  • Partner with Engineering to explore design changes that improve manufacturability and reduce costs.
  • Work with suppliers to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and reliability.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • A bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, engineering, or a related discipline is required.
  • 5+ years of procurement or sourcing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience sourcing and managing global suppliers, especially in low-cost regions.
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and material specifications.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as extrusion, welding, machining, and textile fabrication.
  • Comfort using CAD models or CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) during supplier or engineering discussions.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills.
  • ERP/MRP experience and solid Excel/analytics abilities.
